5 Spooky Halloween Events in Melbourne

While Halloween is nowhere near as popular as it is in the US (Trick or Treating isn’t really a ‘thing’ here), it is getting more popular each year and there are some great Halloween events happening in Melbourne this year. (Candy giveaway at the end of this post 😉 )

My top 5 Spooky Halloween events in Melbourrne for 2018!

Spooktober Halloween festival is perhaps the biggest of the Halloween events in Melbourne! Now in it’s 6th year, it’s back bigger and better with two terrifying haunted house experiences (Coven & Phobia), a Trick or Treat trail sponsored by Wizz Fizz for the kids, food truck village and Hunted Spirits bar for over 18s, serving up some Halloween themed drinks and much more!

Where: St Kilda Town Hall
When: October 31st-Nov 5th, 2018
Cost: Free entry to the festival grounds for young and old. Tickets for the Haunted House experiences and Escape the Swamp can be purchased here.

 

2 Soda Rock Diner’s Annual Halloween Dress-Up Day

If you are not up for a scare on Halloween, but still want to have fun dressing up, head to Soda Rock Diner for a meal and be served by the staff dressed in spooky costumes! Show off your costumes and you might just score yourself some candy! You could wear your spookiest costume or  wear your best Betty & Archie costumes and feel like you have stepped on to the set of Riverdale.

3 Luna Dark 2018

Once again St Kilda’s Luna Park gets transformed into Luna Dark for the biggest costume party for all ages! There are day sessions that are kid-friendly and night sessions, that up the spook factor for adults and bigger kids. There’s live music and an awesome photo studio presented by Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, in Cinemas from October 25, 2018. Pose in front of the spooky Goosebumps 2 backdrops, get a pic souvenir and be entered into the best-dressed competition for a chance to win cash prizes and movie merchandise packs.

When: Friday October 26th- 31st

Halloween events4 Séance, Geelong.

Séance, an experience like no other is coming to Geelong this Halloween. If you dare, you will be escorted into a 40ft Shipping container, where you will sit around a table, be given a set of noise cancelling headphones and be plunged into complete darkness for an unusual and spooky 20 minute, sensory deprivation experience

halloween events5 Hauntville Halloween Festival

Hauntville is another great Halloween event in Melbourne that is suitable for all ages. Held over two weekends during October (last weekend and this weekend), Hauntville offers two haunted house attractions, food trucks, a Fright Night bar, lots of spooky games and entertainment.

When: Friday October 26th-28th
