Beauty Expo Melbourne 2017- Round Up

Last weekend (March 25th & 26th) I attended Beauty Expo Melbourne, this is it’s first year under that title, it was formally called Salon Melbourne.

I attended as media to watch some of the sessions on offer in the different Hubs, learn about some new and exciting brands (and network with a few) and visit some old favourites.

This will be a quick round up of Beauty Expo Melbourne, but I will explore some of the brands further in separate posts in coming weeks, but more on that a little later.

Day 1- Beauty Expo Melbourne

Maria Vlezko- A talented nail artist, who runs the highly successful nail blog, So Nailicious…your ultimate source for all things nails! Maria ran a few different nail masterclasses during the two days that Beauty Expo Melbourne was on. Starting with the Trend Edition nail art masterclass- pictured above

After watching a couple of the Makeup sessions at the Makeup Hub, I walked around the exhibition floor a little more. During this time I networked with a few of the brand owners.

Day 2- Beauty Expo Melbourne

On the second day of the Expo I didn’t stay as long because I had already visited most of the booths on the first day. I did however stay for a couple of the sessions at the Makeup Hub once again.

After I watched Michael Huxley at the Makeup Hub, it was time for Building Your Bridal Business with Rae Morris. I am not a makeup artist, let alone a wedding MUA, but it was an interesting session and I got some great makeup application tips from it.

I was excited to meet Rae at her booth afterwards and get my copy of her Makeup Masterclass book signed and a photo with her.

Over all I enjoyed my time at Beauty Expo Melbourne 2017! I would love to attend again next year.

Some of the brands that interested me and will be featured over the next few weeks: Pure Nut, Divine skincare, SNS Nails, Cuccio Pro and Young Nails (SlickPour)

Khairpep Launch Event

Last Monday I attended the launch event for a new hair care treatment, Khairpep Transforme at Blondes to Brunettes in Prahran.

The salon is in such a beautiful area and not too hard to find. I might have to pop in for a trim or even just a blow wave when I’m in Melbourne next.

What is Khairpep?

Khairpep is a leave-in hair treatment, that repairs hair damaged by bleaching, colouring, straightening and perms. It contains K18Peptide and is clinically proven to; strengthen damaged hair, increase hair elasticity and makes hair more manageable & shinny.

Makeup artist, beauty blogger/Vlogger Hailey was the hair model for the day

The Khairpep Transforme masque is intended for thicker drier hair or hair with damaged ends, while the Khairpep Transforme serum is for fine hair, it’s light weight and adds body to your hair.

Both the masque and serum are available at selected salons as a treatment with your cut, colour or blow-wave. For best results it’s recommended that you repeat the treatment at home 2-4 applications. They retail for $79 each for 50ml of product. You use the tiniest amount for each application and it won’t rinse out the next time you shampoo (after an application), so it will last you a long time!

I know, you’re probably thinking that it’s a lot of money for a hair treatment, but Yan (who was at the event and owns Yan Rafael Hair & Beauty in Elsternwick) put it best when he said that if you pay a lot of money for handbags or to eat at a restaurant, so why not pay that bit more to take care of your hair?

I am yet to try the treatment out on my own hair, but I will be posting updates/results on my blog as soon as I do. My mum is keen to try it too…and my sis!
