Round Beach Towels – Summer Trend

One of the big trends for Summer this year is Round beach towels, more and more stores have been releasing their own designs over the past couple of months.

There are many designs to choose from, with prices to suit different budgets. They would make a great Christmas gift also!

Here are a few of my favourite designs

Fruit Print

Two of the hottest fruit prints/objects this summer are watermelons and pineapples, there are many different homewares and beach accessories around at the moment that are in the shape of these fruit or have the fruit print.

round beach towels1. The Round Towel- Watermelon, $34.95 from Cotton On, 2. Round Towel- Pineapples, $84.95 from BEACH BELLA

Saying

If you are fan of quirky or cheeky sayings, you’ll love the two designs below. I really love the ‘Beach Please’ one from BEACH BELLA…who doesn’t love a good pun? (or a bad one)

Round beach towels1. Spin Me Round Towel- Urban Red To The Beach, $34.95 from Rubi Shoes, 2. Round Towel- Beach Please, $84.95 from BEACH BELLA

Monochrome

You can’t go wrong with monochrome, it’s understated, but goes with everything! I absolutely love Peter Morrissey’s designs, especially the palm trees! He will always be one of my favourite Aussie designers.

Round beach towels1. Peter Morrissey 150cm Round Beach Towel with fringe- two designs, $39 each from Big W, 2. Arrow Round Beach Towel, $59 from Target

 Single colour

The towels below are a great option if you want one that is a single coloured pattern on white rather than the black & while monochromatic ones. The Kmart round towel is a vibrant yellow and is the most affordable round beach towel, that I’ve come across.

round beach towels1. Round Jaquard Beach Towel- Yellow, $29 from Kmart, 2. Round Towel- Japanese Waves $84.95 from BEACH BELLA

What do you think of the Round Beach Towels trend? would you buy one?

PS. Happy 1st day of Summer Australia!

Glasshouse New Release: Monet’s Garden, Positano and Rio De Janeiro triple scented candles

Glasshouse has just released three new triple scented candle fragrances, Monet’s Garden, Positano and Rio De Janeiro. Available from Glasshouse candles stockists

Monet’s Garden- Tuberose

Glasshouse

Mixing the simplest flowers with the more rare varieties, Monet’s Garden transports you into the artist’s infamous garden paintings, with rapturous scents of Tuberose, Ylang Ylang an Lavender.

Fragrance description:

Top: Tuberose
Middle notes: Logan Berry, Lavender
Base : Ylang Ylang

My thoughts:

This was my favoutite out of all three fragrances, it’s fresh and light and will be perfect to welcome in Spring! I would describe the smell as being a sweet floral, but it’s not too sweet. For me the lavender was undetectable, which is good because I am not a big fan of lavender.

Positano- Verbena and Basil

Renowned for white houses framed by fruit trees, colourful flowers and olive groves, Positano exudes fragrances of Verbena, Basil and Lime. Take a deep breath and escape to a seaside oasis.

Fragrance description:

Top: Mandarin, Lime, Basil
Middle: Verbena, Bergamot, Lily of the Valley
Base: Oakmoss

My thoughts:

I was not a fan of this fragrance, the strongest scent was the basil and I do not like ‘herb’ scents at all. Perhaps the basil would fade once it was lit, but seeing as these three fragrances are only available in the 350g size jar (with the exception of the GWP promotion), I won’t be purchasing one to find out.

Rio De Janeiro- Passionfruit and Lime

Glasshouse

Think flamboyant street parades accompanied by wild music and lots of laughter. Rio de Janeiro captures the spirit of Brazil, with exotic scents of ripe Passionfruit, Lime, Raspberry and Orange, to give your senses an instant lift.

Fragrance description:

Top: Passionfruit, Lime
Middle: Raspberry, Orange
Base: Rose, Melon

My Thoughts:

I love this fragrance (not as much as Monet’s Gargden though). Just as Monet’s Garden is perfect for spring, Rio De Janeiro is perfect for Summer. The passionfruit is strong at first ‘sniff’ but not overpowering. The smell is fruity, juicy with just the right amount of citrus.

Decor Plus in Market Square Geelong, has a promotion on at the moment. You will receive a mini (60g) Monet’s Garden triple scented candle when you spend $54.95 (or more) on the Glasshouse range. I bought a few minis, so received one and I can’t wait to burn it! Stock is strictly limited, so you better be quick if you want to try Monet’s Garden without purchasing the large (350g) candle.

Glasshouse

All three candles are $39.95 RRP each, from Glasshouse Stockists

Have you tried Glasshouse candles? if so, which one is your favourite?
