Liptember is a fairly new charity concept (now in its second year) that raises awareness and funds for gender specific mental health issues for woman.

Why is it for gender specific mental health issues? The Royal Woman’s Hospital has stated via the Liptember Facebook page that

 “…Male and female brains have different structural, chemical and functional variations. AND psychiatric disorders with a genetic basis (eg schizophrenia) are quite different in males and females. Exactly why we need sex- and gender-specific research!!”

I will be supporting the cause, by wearing the official ‘Liptember’ lippy every day during the month of  September.
