Tomorrow kicks off Look Good…Feel Better’s annual dream week campaign. Dream week: 7 days of hope is a national campaign raising awareness and much needed funds for the Look Good…Feel Better program. The program receives no government funding, so it relies heavily on support and generosity of the beauty industry and general public.
What is the Look Good…Feel Better program?
Look Good…Feel Better helps to improve the well-being and confidence
of women undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment for any
sort of cancer. By attending a free workshop, cancer patients learn how
to use skin care techniques to alleviate symptoms like dryness and
sallowness; makeup tips to deal with things like concealing redness and
drawing on eyebrows; and advice on head-wear including scarf styling
and wig selection.
Some of the ways that you can get involved:
- During Dream week $1 from every lipstick or lip gloss sold at David Jones and Myer stores nationwide will be donated to Look Good…Feel Better, so go ahead and treat yourself to a new lippie, it is for a good cause after all!
- Join in on the 7 Days of Lipstick challenge on social media, by wearing a New or bold Lipstick every day for 7 days, during dream week (Aug 31-Sep 6). Take a selfie each day and upload it to social media with the hashtag #7DaysofLipstick and tag @LGFBAustralia
- $7 for 7 days of hope-Supporters are encouraged to make a direct $7 donation in a bid to fund the charity’s newest service – home-delivered Confidence Kits. The ‘workshop-in-a-box’ initiative aims to help women, men and teens who are unable to attend a workshop due to health or travel reasons to still reap the benefits of the Look Good…Feel Better program. Donors can make the $7 pledge by visiting www.mycause.com.au/events/7for7daysofhope
I hope you will join me in supporting LGFB by participating in the 7 Days of Lipstick Challenge. I will also be donating to the campaign.
