Swatch Saturday: Ulta3 superstar collection

Apologies for the lack of posts, the last few months have been crazy…I’m only just catching up with organising upcoming posts. My first being on a few of the products from Ulta3 Superstar collection.

I was kindly sent a few of the lipstick shades and a nail polish from the Spring/Summer ’16 Ulta3 Superstar collection (currently in selected pharmacies)

Ulta3 Superstar

Ulta3 Superstar Collection Swatches

ulta3 superstar*Ulta3 Nail polish in ‘Meteorite’- I love this nail polish shade, it’s not like any other polish I already own. I would describe it as a Metallic lilac, with silver shimmer.

*Ulta3 lipstick in ‘Shooting Star’- This would have to be my favourite of the three shades, an almost nude pink with a slight shimmer to it. I think it really suits my cool skin tone.

*Ulta3 Lipstick in ‘Supernova’- I have a cool undertone to my skin, so anything with a yellow or orange base does not work well with my skin tone. This shade is an orange based red (more orange than it appears in the photo) with a slight shimmer to it.

*Ulta3 Lipstick in ‘Moonlight Mauve’- This shade I would say is more pink with a mauve undertone, rather than straight up mauve as the name suggests. I found this shade to suit me quite well also.

Ulta3 Superstar collection includes nail polish that retails for $2.30 per bottle and lipsticks are $3.95 each and 4 different glitter eyeliners, from selected pharmacies.

I might create a makeup look with one of the lipstick shades shortly

Swatch Saturday: Nail polish minis OPI Venice collection + nail art

Today’s Swatch Saturday are the *little Bambinos nail polish minis from the new OPI Venice Collection. I’ve also created some simple nail art using some of the shades.

The OPI Venice collection has been released for Fall/Winter 2015. While Australia has finished winter and is heading towards warmer weather, the Northern Hemisphere is getting ready for Fall.

The *little Bambinos minis from the OPI Venice Collection are just a small sampling of the range of gorgeous shades included in the collection.

little Bambinos minis swatches

OPI Venice collectionA Great Opera-tunity– A nice melon shade, I did call it peach at first…but looking at it again, it does remind me of Cantaloupe/Rock-melon. A bit sheer, above I have applied two coats.

OPI Venice collectionWorth a Pretty Penne– Not much to say really, a very shimmery copper shade. Fairly opaque, but (as above) two coats will up the intensity of the shimmer!

OPI Venice collectionAmore at the Grand Canal– A nice crimson red, again not much to say really. A little sheer, so definitely needs a 2nd coat.
OPI Venice collectionMy Gondola or Yours?– Black with a hint of shimmer (didn’t show up in the photo). I was surprised that I also need two coats for this shade, as normally black polishes are fairly opaque.

OPI Venice Collection Nail Art

OPI Venice collectionFor my simple nail art design, I used A Great Opera-tunity as the base. Then I used a fan brush to ‘brush’ on rough stripes of Worth a Pretty Penne and I finished it of with a heart on my ring finger nail with Amore at the Grand Canal.

The OPI Venice collection is available at Myer, David Jones and selected pharmacies.
